Using Socrative and Kahoot to Engage/Gamify/Quiz Your Students!
Presenter:  Rob Zdrojewski, Amherst Middle School and Canisius College
Date:  March 14, 2015  9:00am - 9:45am
Location:  Room 6
Game-based student response systems (a.k.a. “clickers”) are increasingly becoming a popular technology tool to engage students in classroom activities.  However their high cost and steep learning curve prevent many classrooms from utilizing this exciting technology. Learn how online tools like Socrative and Kahoot aim to change all of this!  Socrative and Kahoot are free web-based student response systems that run on ANY device with a web browser. See how you can use tablets, smartphones, Chromebooks or laptops as “clickers” instead of investing in the more traditional (and expensive!) one-purpose only hardware devices on the market.  Please BYOD (bring your own device) and join us for some fun demonstrations of Socrative and Kahoot!

Greenscreen Video Production on iPads?  Yes We Can!
Presenter: Rob Zdrojewski, Amherst Middle School and Canisius College
Date:  March 14, 2015   11:30am - 12:15pm
Location:  Room 6
Creating green screen video used to be expensive and highly technical--but not anymore!  Thanks to the Green Screen Do Ink iPad app, anyone can now shoot broadcast quality green screen footage.  Imagine having students appear to be on location for their video book reports or presentations.  This app will allow you to choose any video clip or photo from your camera roll and use it as the backdrop behind you.  See examples here.  Join us as we explore your options for green screens, lighting, microphones and more. The possibilities are endless!
