Saturday Tech Workshops at Elmwood Franklin School

On Saturday, May 3, 2014 I'll be presenting these 3 sessions at the annual T4 Conference held at Elmwood Franklin School in Buffalo, NY.  Join me if you're attending!

Session One: 9:20am - 10:20am
Students as Mobile News Reporters Using Videolicious on iOS Devices
Digital storytelling at it’s finest!  Learn how to create simple “newscaster style” videos using the free Videolicious app available on iOS devices. Create videos in 3 easy steps: choose media, tell your story, and choose your music. Videolicious then does the editing for you! Perfect for any curricular area where integrating student-produced video is desired.

Session Two: 10:25am - 11:25am
The Art of Screencasting: Teacher-On-Demand is Now Possible!
The concept of the “flipped classroom” wouldn’t be possible without screencasting. Learn how to create screencasts on iPads, Windows or Mac. Technology Teacher Rob Zdrojewski has "flipped" his direct instruction into screencasting so his students have anytime, anywhere access to classroom instruction. When combined with an online learning platform like Edmodo, teachers now have the ability to create a 24/7 learning environment, perfect for keeping absent students up to date and fostering a more one on one teacher to student classroom.

Session Three: 11:50am - 12:50pm
Still Using Microsoft Word? Why? Upgrade to Google Docs!
Explore the greater possibilities with using Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Slideshow Presentations and more in a cloud-based environment. When compared to the traditional features of Microsoft Office, there are numerous benefits of “going google” for students, teachers and administrators.
